Brahma Kumaris Host "A Life of
Stability" at PHIL Haarlem: 700 People Experience an Afternoon of Peace, Music,
and Spiritual Wisdom
PHIL Haarlem, The Netherlands – 16 August 2025
On Saturday, 16 August 2025, the Brahma Kumaris Netherlands hosted a unique and inspiring public program entitled "A Life of Stability – Creating Balance, Peace and Harmony" at PHIL Haarlem. The gathering drew 700 people from across the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany, offering an afternoon of reflection, culture, dialogue, and meditation that touched every heart.
Completely free of charge, the event was offered as a gift to the community, in keeping with the Brahma Kumaris' long-standing tradition of making all their activities and programs available without cost.
A Celebration of Service and Community
The program, guided by host Zhunaysha Gajadhar, began with a soulful saxophone performance by Vinodj Sital, setting the tone of serenity. This was followed by Sister Artie's reflections on the 10-year anniversary of Harmony House, the Brahma Kumaris centre in Amsterdam Zuidoost, celebrating a decade of community service and growth. Senior Rajayoga meditation teacher Jacqueline Berg then shared the inspiring journey of 44 years of Brahma Kumaris service in the Netherlands, highlighting decades of dedication to spreading peace, compassion, and spiritual wisdom.
Music and Culture Bridging Hearts
Throughout the afternoon, music and cultural expression created a powerful connection with the audience. A moving film presentation accompanied by live music from Orville Breeveld illustrated the living impact of spiritual practice. Rising talent Rayniel Sital (Ray Noise) offered an original song as a musical gift, while the students of Darshan Kumari presented a classical performance that carried listeners into stillness and joy. These diverse artistic contributions reflected the universality of the Brahma Kumaris' message, showing how spirituality resonates through creativity.
Voices of Society: Leaders, Academics, and Citizens Together
The program drew participation from across society. Ms. Tanja Jadnanansing, Dutch politician and Chairperson of the Executive Board of Amsterdam Zuidoost District, praised the Brahma Kumaris' contribution to community well-being and shared her personal experience with their programs, acknowledging them as "a strong pillar of support for the community, creating a culture of brotherhood, unity, and harmony."
The highlight of the gathering was the keynote by Sister Jayanti, Additional Administrative Head of the Brahma Kumaris, who shared her reflections on A Life of Stability.
"Stability is not about controlling the outside world," Sister Jayanti reminded the audience, "but about anchoring ourselves in inner peace. When we cultivate stillness within, we become unshakable in the face of life's storms."
Sister Jayanti has been a student and teacher of Rajayoga meditation for over 60 years now and has extensively travelled around the world to share her spiritual insights with the global audience.
Prof. Dr. Sharda Nandram, Professor of Business & Spirituality at Nyenrode Business University and Professor of Hindu Spirituality and Society at the Vrije University of Amsterdam, then offered a complementary perspective, exploring how leadership and spirituality intersect. Their subsequent dialogue brought together spiritual insight and practical application, resonating powerfully with the diverse audience — politicians, educators, students, spiritual leaders, and everyday citizens alike.
A Gift of Meditation and Stillness
The event concluded with a guided Raja Yoga meditation led by Sister Jayanti. This timeless practice — rooted in ancient Indian spiritual wisdom and at the heart of the Brahma Kumaris' teachings — enabled participants to experience inner calm and a renewed sense of balance.
Impact on the Audience
The 700 attendees, along with guests from Belgium and Germany, experienced an afternoon many described as transformative. For some, it was a first introduction to Raja Yoga meditation; for others, a deepening of their journey. The program offered not just inspiration, but also practical tools for inner stability and peace, empowering individuals to strengthen their families and communities.
